Frugal Friday and my 100th post !

I've been blogging for a couple months now and this is my 100th post . I'm really happy with the way this blog is going so far but see some impovements could be made . Please let me know what you would like to see on this blog in the comments or drop me a letter in the contact me area.

Frugal Friday:

I've been thinking alot about time recently, since it seems I suddenly have very little of it ! By being frugal with our time , and how much of it we dedicate to certain people and activities we can , at the same time be more frugal with our finances .

Be frugal with your free time : Everyone needs a break from time to time and we should certainly carve out a slice of our schedules for some me time. By doing so we will be less stressed and more productive the rest of the time. An hour a day dedicated to rest, a passtime , or any activity we enjoy is a great way to be frugal but not stingy with ourselves.

Make a schedule : For everything . Bills, dinners, shopping, play , sleep ...there should be a time for everything. We can further enhance the productivity and the time needed to dedicate to an activity by cutting out procrastination and making everyone in your family aware of what will be done at what time. Soon everyone falls in line and the time explaining what needs to be done and how it needs to be done is diminished ..making each task easier and faster.

Give up the ghost : We all have an idea of how things "should" be , which is usually drastically different than the way things are . It's ok to lower your expectations a little bit . Your kids will make messes, your husband/partner will not always do what you need or expect , you'll have a meltdown happens and it's just not always pretty . If you have unrealistic goals for your household you will spend ( waste) countless hours of your life trying to accomplish the impossible . Set realistic goals and work towards those , stop trying to be "The Joneses".

Take what you need : Stuff gets in our way . By assessing exactly what you need now or at some point in the forseeable future we declutter our lives . By only getting the things we need we won't spend time and energy making more clutter we will eventually have to cull and we can use that time, money and energy towards things that will truly make us happier and more well off . If you want to get rid of some of the clutter try visiting a site like If you need something , remember it's always frugal to reuse and you can get some great freebies on the site as well.
